DOES ANDY MURRAY'S NEW COACH NEED TO BE FROM THE TENNIS WORLD?

Many “tennis people” would agree that a large part of winning comes from the mental side of the game and it would seem fairly obvious that when a player achieves a good focus he/she is able to perform at a higher level.
Agreed? One could argue that Andy could do with improving his second serve and perhaps his volley when moving forward off the split, but I think it is unlikely at this stage in his career he will make any changes to his technique. I would argue that the biggest improvement he could make would be in the mental skills area and that the person to help doesn’t necessarily need to be an ex Grand Slam winning tennis player!
So who might it be? How about Alex Ferguson who has a bit of time on his hands and whatever he said to Andy at the US Open seemed to help! Andy getting some “hair-dryer” treatment might do the trick. Or from the boxing world would David Haye manage to provide some words of advice on attitude against lesser opponents? (Boxers tend to get knocked out if they aren’t ready to fight!)
A sports psychologist may well have all the theory, but Andy might respond better to a well known and respected person from the sporting world. After all, there’s not too many ex Grand Slam winning coaches left as they’re already employed or doing other things.
Anyway, just a thought and as I tend to focus my time more on the tennis and football world some of you might have a few suggestions from other sports of great motivators?
Looking forward to any suggestions…………….
Come on Andy!!!
