Update on travel to Italy this summer
Our vaccination success rate in the UK has certainly helped our general level of optimism for potential travel this year and it would look like we are getting closer to the idea of vaccination passports. The EU is set to propose a Covid 19 immunity pass for use in all member states, including Italy. While the vaccination process has been much slower in Italy with only 4.5 million shots administered so far there is hope from the Italian Government that they will have half the population vaccinated by June. The reality on the ground in Italy at the moment is that the country's latest emergency decree confirmed that international travel restrictions are to stay in place until after Easter. The rules are in place indefinitely, with the next review due on April 6th. If Italy does remove travel restrictions for summer, any changes are unlikely to be confirmed for some time yet. On a positive note in Sardinia hoteliers are talking about possible restarts in May but implementing a much safer and more effective method than last year again with the use of vaccination passports etc as previously mentioned. So many ifs and buts and where does that leave TTH for this summer? Like last year we hope to offer at the very least our regular week in Lucca from the 21 - 28 August and then maybe the following week in Sardinia from the 28th August until the 4th of September. A new sister hotel of our very popular Villa Marta in Lucca is in the process of being completely renovated at the moment and will be ready for this summer. The style and quality will be very similar to Villa Marta and it is only a 5-minute drive from the club. We have booked off some rooms there for the 21-28 August. It's still difficult at this early stage to offer anything else with any great certainty but if you would like to register your interest in either the Lucca or Sardinia week please contact us and we could add your name(s) to the list.
