Hotel Villa San Michele
Hotel Villa San Michele, the sister hotel of Hotel Villa Marta, is a delightful hotel nestled in the hills just outside Lucca. A beautifully restored villa combining historic charm with modern comforts, including elegantly decorated rooms, a pool and lush gardens.
t owes its name to the village of San Michele in Escheto where it is located and to the small Romanesque church of S. Michele Arcangelo, bordering the property.
Villa San Michele, once a stately home, is the typical example of late 15th century architecture, consisting of 3 floors and surrounded by a characteristic stone wall. The north façade still retains the original Romanesque arches.
From the external entrance, characterized by an ancient stone arch with the coat of arms of the dwelling, you can directly access the ancient reception hall that houses the reception and the bar, with the typical vaulted ceiling elegantly frescoed, supported by columns that form pointed arches. Also on the ground floor there is the restaurant (also completely frescoed) and in the basement a large cellar, where numerous bottles of fine vintage wines are kept.

It is possible to participate in the preparation of meals with chef Saverio Guardato. You will experience a cooking lesson where he will show you the technique, history and secrets of some of the most famous dishes in Italy, and of course all accompanied by a good glass of wine. |
